Summary
Dalmia Cement manufactures a wide range of cement products to meet diverse construction requirements across India. As its on-premise infrastructure faced scalability and security limitations, Goognu developed a cloud-enabled mobility application supported by a secure VPN network. The solution allows dealers and partners to place and manage orders through mobile devices. Goognu also migrated Dalmia Cement's infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) while maintaining data integrity and security throughout the transition.
The Client
Founded in 1939, Dalmia Cement is one of India's established cement manufacturers. The company has a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum across 13 manufacturing plants in nine states, with a customer network spanning 22 states.
Dalmia Group continuously adopts new technologies to strengthen its operations and expand business capabilities. Its focus on innovation and technology has supported continued growth across specialised markets.
The Goal
Dalmia Cement relied on an on-premise infrastructure to manage its end-to-end supply chain operations. Customers and major dealers used its mobile application to place orders. As transaction volumes and operational requirements increased, the company needed a scalable infrastructure without compromising the security of critical business data.
The organisation required AWS expertise to develop and deploy a mobility solution for dealers and partners. The application needed to enable customers to place orders conveniently while allowing major dealers to monitor purchase orders in real time.
Dalmia Cement also wanted to take advantage of AWS's global infrastructure and cloud services to support its growing technology requirements while reducing its dependence on extensive on-site IT infrastructure.
A major requirement was the migration of 15 projects from the existing on-premise environment to AWS. Goognu needed to complete this transition while maintaining data integrity and security. The solution also required reliable branch-office connectivity, highly available services, and comprehensive quality assurance before deployment.
